Conveying coal, not dust

With a growing emphasis on environmental protection in coal handling, for both new facilities and expansion projects, conveyors are being increasingly targeted to reduce their intrusion impact upon their surroundings.

Belt conveyors emit dust from four main locations: the tail end (where material is received); the conveyor skirting (although this itself is a dust reducing measure); the return idlers (due to carry-over of fine dust on the return belt), and the head end, where material is discharged....
