Portbase – a new, joint Port Community System covering the ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam – has been officially launched. It is 75%-owned by the Port of Rotterdam Authority and 25%-owned by the Port of Amsterdam.
Non-profit organisation Portbase, an initiative for and by the port community, is the result of a merger between Port infolink in Rotterdam and PortNET in Amsterdam and was created after the Port of Rotterdam Authority and the Port of Amsterdam decided in October 2008 to merge the two organisations to form a single,non-port-affiliated Port Community System. Its board of management consists of Iwan van der Wolf (previously of Port infolink) and Erik Verhagen (previously of PortNET)....
