Economic recovery is major topic at London’s World Coal Conference
The agenda at this year’s annual Coaltrans conference will address a range of topical issues, including the prospects for recovery from the worldwide economic downturn and the impact on the coal, power and steel industries.
By tradition, the Coaltrans World Coal Conference opens with a welcoming address given by the host nation’s government. Discussing coal use from a British viewpoint will be Lord Hunt, Minister of State at the Department of Energy and Climate Change. He is expected to confirm that Britain is putting coal firmly at the centre of its energy policy and to pledge the UK government’s commitment to ensure a reliable, cost-effective energy supply....
