Although the major mining groups are cutting back on investments as demand slumps, there are still sufficient projects underway to maintain strong order books for stackers/reclaimers.
Given the lead time to design, fabricate and commission large stockyard handling plant such as stackers/reclaimers, the major manufacturers are still working through their order books filled when the commodity markets were at their peak. There is no doubt that the market will eventually return to around previous volume levels when the world economy recovers, but prices and profit margins may not be as generous....
