Gener SA - the Chile-based power generator and the 100 per cent owner of Compania Carbones del Cesar in Colombia - recently announced its intention to look for parties interested in investing in the development of the coal reserves contained in Concession La Loma 5160.
The concession for exploitation of coal was granted in 1992, and is valid for 30 years. Gener purchased the concession from the original holder (Siminera Limitada) in 1997, and has been continuing exploration work in preparation for the recommencement of mining operations at the site. An export coal mine was developed on the property and coal was produced and shipped during 1995 and 1996....
