Australian lead and zinc producer Pasminco has said it will close the Cockle Creek lead and zinc smelter near Newcastle, NSW, in 2003, several years earlier than previously announced.
The smelter currently consumes about 100,000 tpa of plus-25mm metallurgical coke produced by Excel’s Illawarra Coke company....
