Xstrata Plc and Rio Tinto (Coal & Allied) have been selected to supply the Mexican Federal Electricity Commission with a total of 8.84 mt of thermal coal over an 18 month period from March.
The deal, worth more than A$688 mill, is to supply the Petacalco power plant in the Pacific coast state of Guerrero and covers coal deliveries to Mexico beginning on 20 March 2006 and finishing on 23 August 2007....
