In the first seven months of 2008, Russian Railways (RR) delivered 48.1mt of coal (+9.6mt/20% rise in the same period last year) to the domestic power industry.
Meanwhile, RR and other rail operators reached an agreement to ship coal on a parity basis. RZD, coal companies and rail operators approved the decision to set up a working group on coal exports. At its first meeting in August it considered the technology of the interaction between RR and coal companies, rail operators and rolling stock owners....
