The Russian Baltic port of Vysotsk is working to complete phase one of its reconstruction programme by the end of the current year in order to accommodate 40,000dwt ships by 2010.
Work scheduled for this year will include the deepening of the port’s approach channel from 10m to 13.2m and water area to 12.7m, as well as the installation of new coal cleaning equipment and four portal cranes. It is also planning to replace all of its 11 cranes with new ones between 2010-2012....
