Port Qasim Authority (PQA) is in talks with Pakistan International Container Terminal Limited (PICT) to develop a US$175M coal and cement terminal at the port by 2011.
The build-operate-transfer project to build a coal and clinker/cement terminal designed to handle bulk carriers up to 75,000 dwt was approved by the government in 2006. The proposed facility will be a greenfield development without PQA or government funding....
