The Port of Newcastle, NSW finished 2009 on a high note with yet another monthly coal export record being set. A total of nearly 8.97 mt of coal was exported in December, beating the previous record set in October last year by 0.17 mt.
The NSW Government said the Newcastle Port Corporation and the Hunter Valley Coal Chain had worked hard in the past few years to make Newcastle the largest coal export port in the world and the new record “can only reinforce that reputation.”...
