Published: 6 March 2009 China Shenhua plans $725M railway
China's largest coal producer China Shenhua Energy Co Ltd has confirmed that it has won regulatory approval to build a railway in Inner Mongolia costing Yuan 4.96B ($725.1M).
According to reports, the company will take a 90% stake in the project, capitalised at Yuan 1.74B, while an investment arm of the local government will hold the remaining 10%. The purpose of the 128.8 km railway is to improve the region's coal transport network, it said.
